Adding even more excitement to the evening, the Wasatch Show Band will perform a live opening night concert on Saturday, July 18 at Mary and Art Dye Park (1000 N. 550 E.) from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Known for their energetic performances, powerful vocals, and crowd-favorite hits spanning multiple decades and genres, the Wasatch Show Band will help kick off Steel Days in an unforgettable fashion. The band is a part of the Wasatch Music Alliance, whose mission is to foster and promote the concept of the adult music performance community through the following objectives:
1) To prepare and perform pieces from the full spectrum of Concert Band and Jass Band literature.
2) To provide adults with an opportunity to expand their musical performance skills within the context of a large ensemble.
3) To provide entertainment and education to the community by means of public performance.
4) To provide a continuing opportunity for young people and adults to continue their involvement in music.
Families and friends are invited to relax on the lawn, enjoy the music, dance, sing along, and experience an incredible night of entertainment leading directly into the Opening Ceremonies and Drone Show.
The evening will culminate with the official kickoff of Steel Days 2026, as the Opening Ceremonies begin at 9:00 p.m., launching a week of celebration, connection, and community pride. Finally, the Drone Show will begin at approximately 9:45 p.m.
